Abstract

Background
Breast cancer remains one of the leading causes of cancer-related mortality among women
globally. Despite doxorubicin (DOX) being a widely used chemotherapeutic agent, its efficacy is limited by systemic toxicity and non-specific distribution. Nanoparticle-based drug delivery
systems offer a promising strategy to enhance therapeutic index and reduce adverse effects.
Objective
To develop and evaluate chitosan-coated poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) (PLGA) nanoparticles for
targeted and controlled delivery of DOX to breast cancer cells.
