Abstract

A green, mild, most efficient, eco-friendly and simple procedure has been developed for the synthesis of tetrahydro benzo [b] pyran derivatives from one-pot three component cyclocondensation reactions of various aromatic aldehydes, malononitrile and dimedone in aquous ethanol at room temperature by using 1,8-diazabicyclo [5.4.0] undec-7-ene (DBU) as an efficient catalyst.
