ADVERSE PREGNANCY OUTCOMES AND MID/ TRIMESTER UTERINE ARTERY DOPPLER IN HIGH-RISK PREGNANCIES

Background: Compared to assessing the risk or prevalence of these complications, which could improve outcomes by
offering precise therapeutic management and antenatal surveillance, doppler screening for uterine circulation will
increase PPV for estimating small for gestation baby or preeclampsia among high-risk pregnant females by two times.
Aim: The goal of the current study was to evaluate the relationship between mid-trimester uterine artery Doppler and
unfavorable pregnancy outcomes in high-risk pregnancies between weeks 18 and 24 of gestation.
Methods: The study evaluated 230 high-risk pregnant women who attended the antenatal OPD at the Institute between
18 and 24 weeks of gestation and underwent uterine artery doppler. Abnormal Doppler waveforms were defined as
having bilateral uterine artery notching or a PI (pulsatality index) greater than 1.45. Preeclampsia, small for gestation
(<10th centile) abruption, and intrauterine fetal death were the outcomes evaluated.
