Abstract

Background: Acne vulgaris is one of the most common dermatological disorders affecting adolescents and young adults. 
It has significant cosmetic, psychological, and social impact on affected individuals.
Aim: To evaluate the clinical profile, severity pattern, and associated risk factors of acne vulgaris among adolescents and 
young adults.
Materials and Methods: A prospective observational study was conducted in the Department of Dermatology during 
2019 among 132 patients diagnosed with acne vulgaris attending the outpatient department. Detailed history, clinical 
examination, grading of acne severity using Global Acne Grading System, and associated risk factors were assessed. 
Statistical analysis was performed using chi-square test and independent t-test. A p-value less than 0.05 was considered 
statistically significant.
