Abstract

Background: Caesarean section is a commonly performed obstetric procedure. Maternal and neonatal outcomes may 
differ between elective and emergency caesarean sections.
Aim: To compare maternal and neonatal outcomes between elective and emergency caesarean section.
Methods: A prospective comparative study was conducted in 2022 among 140 pregnant women undergoing caesarean 
section. Patients were divided into elective caesarean section and emergency caesarean section groups. Maternal 
complications, neonatal outcome, hospital stay, and postoperative morbidity were analyzed using SPSS version 25.
