Abstract

Background: Sickle cell disease, or SCD, is a chronic form of hemolytic anemia that causes increasing damage to key organs
through sporadic acute complications. The assessment of the prevalence of splenic dysfunction in children with sickle cell
disease in Indian subjects is not well documented in the literature.
