Background: A recent and groundbreaking discovery is the use of the CVP (cortical visual prosthesis) to restore vision
in blind eyes. The calcarine fissure and simian sulcus are found in the striate cortex. Visual regions make up Brodmann's
areas 17, 18, and 19. Variations are typically observed in striate cortex symmetry and sexual dimorphism.
