Abstract

Vulvovaginal candidiasis (VVC) is one of the most common fungal infections affecting women
of reproductive age. Changing epidemiology, increasing prevalence of non-albicans Candida
species, and rising antifungal resistance have created challenges in diagnosis and management,
particularly in non-pregnant women where recurrent disease is common.
