Background: Nearly 90% of individuals have almost good to excellent pain relief from current epidural regimens, whereas
the remaining 10% find analgesia insufficient. Inadequate analgesia or breakthrough pain can be caused by a number of risk
factors, such as nulliparity, greater body mass index, bigger newborns, and incorrect intervals between doses.
Aim: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effects of epidural analgesia on the length of labor (first and second stages)
and the outcomes for the newborn in terms of APGAR scores at five minutes.
