Background: Psoriasis is a systemic, inflammatory, and chronic illness that manifests mostly in the joints and skin of the
affected individuals, further reducing their quality of life. Few people experience severe illness exacerbations on a regular
basis, necessitating recurrent systemic medication. However, there is limited information on the role of systemic
maintenance medication in psoriasis patients in preventing these periodic disease flares.
